Future highlights for Canadian baritone Drew Santini include Bach's Mattheaus Passion with the South Netherlands Philharmonic, Bach's Weihnachts Oratorium with The Hague Philharmonic and Handel's Messiah with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra.
Some recent engagements include the role of Amanzio in Händel's Guistino with Lautten Compagney at the Händel-festspiele Halle conducted by Wolfgang Katschner, Bach's Johannes Passion with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging and conductor Jos van Veldhoven, his debut at the Dutch National Opera singing Le Mari in a young artists production of Les Mamelles de Tirésias, Ben in The Telephone at the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam with the Nederlandse Reisopera in collaboration with The Göteborg Opera, concerts with Damask Ensemble, and projects with Cappella Amsterdam and De Nederlandse Bachvereniging.
Drew’s opera credits include Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Le Gendarme in Les Mamelles de Tirésias, Lockit in the Beggar’s Opera, Ramiro in L’heure Espagnole and Mr. Splinters in The Tender Land. He has given world premieres in opera creating such roles as Gilfaethwy the False (Wolf-in-Skins by Gregory Spears), Gunnar (The Raven’s Kiss by Evan Fein), and Reporter (Séance on a Wet Afternoon by Stephen Schwartz). He has also performed the role of Guido Contini in Nine: The Musical twice, once in Bruges, Belgium and again in New York City.
